What's Memory???

Memory is the process of storing information, and as in any process, successive steps or stages are essential for it to work. The three stages in the memory process are sensory memory,short-term memory, and long-term memory.
Strategies for Recalling Information:
1) Mnemonics are tricks you can use to help you recall information after you have understood an learned it.
2) Key words represent the topic or main ideas of the material you are reading.
3) Acronyms are words created by using the first letters of each word or pgrase that you intend to remember.
4) Acrostics are created by using the first letter of each item you need to remember to make a phrase or sentence.
Test Taking and Memory.
Even if you have studied well, you may still experience some memory blocks while taking an exam. This is normal and usually temporary. If it happens to you, remain calm and continue to work on the exam, focusing on the easy questions first. Oftentimes, reading other easier questions will trigger your memory, which will help you find answers for the questions on which you are blocked. You will do better on exams when you consistently use memory.
